From the 23rd to the 27th of September was held the annual appointment par excellence of the Ceramics: the Cersaie fair in Bologna (Italy). Here we leave you a little trip through our stand where you will know not only our new products, but also the soul of our brands Livingceramics and Lithotech.

At Livingceramics we prioritise simplicity and functionality, with an emphasis on beautiful, sensory and practical spaces. Our essence is to create spaces to breathe and immerse ourselves in a state of mind that awakens the innate longing for connection with our primordial home: nature.

Through the poetic play of light and shadow, shapes and voids, we seek a space that evokes a deep sense of tranquillity that invites us to live in the present moment with mindfulness and grace. Our DNA is to create spaces and materials with a sense of calm and tranquillity through clean lines, unadorned forms and uncluttered spaces.

Our booth was inspired by Japanese architecture and its sense of beauty with the concept of wabi-sabi, to suggest a modest beauty that seeks something closer to nature. Wabi represents a simple stillness and finds beauty in non-materialistic freedom and harmony with nature, and sabi means elegant simplicity. It also contained aspects of the ‘less is more’ philosophy that Ludwig Mies van der Rohe championed in the modern architectural movement.

Our aim was to create a composition through a simple structure in which there was a sense of tension in the simplicity with a sense of depth.

Our space consisted of two parts (exterior and interior), and contained suggestions to improve our quality of life (providing privacy, giving continuity to the living space and a sea of fine pebbles extending from the exterior to the interior.

Delicate black iron lattices and a wall combined with glass were the only barriers between outside and inside. If they were completely removed, nature would penetrate the interior and become a natural source of decoration. The open corners created with glass produced a panoramic view of the garden and increased the visual pleasure. To illuminate the spaces, spotlights were more than adequate to enhance the connection between man, space and nature.

The idea is that visitors get the first impression of a house, and a well-prepared outdoor view was the best entrance to show our hospitality. The outdoor area contained small pebbles, Japanese maples, our New Collection in 20mm and an outdoor kitchen. The interior space was a study in simplicity and flexibility of calm tones.

Glass partitions and screens gave the living room great versatility, as it was possible to change the size and shape of the room. The austere elegance may have been shocking at first, but it had a calming effect. The troubled soul relaxed peacefully. One could see that the balance between left and right was altered to create a dynamic beauty called asymmetry (the Japanese concept of beauty).

The last room in the inner zone, represented an important buffer between inside and outside and helped to draw nature into the house through the green area and the large table made from our new Oda collection, while still offering protection and security.

We retained the unity, spaciousness and harmony between inside and outside, with the garden playing a central role.

Novelties

Oda | New collection

The Oda collection is a tribute to stone. It is inspired by the typical stones of the west coast of France, rich in fossils with very marked organic shapes and in different sizes and intensities. The colours, timeless and inspired by stone, allow the fossils to stand out thanks to their chromatic and nuanced richness. The result is a contemporary collection with a touch of history that gives it a unique charm.

The collection uses 3D.FIT technology, unique in the market and improved year after year as a result of constant research and the search for perfection in contemporary surfaces. The 3D.Fit technology ensures that the graphics and the relief of the piece match perfectly just as the natural material does. This achieves the efficiency and performance of the ceramic material with an aesthetic as close as possible to the natural material.

Gubi | New finishes and colours

Gubi is the most contemporary version of microcement and one of the most valued by architects and interior designers. Now it is renewed with two key points:

  • The inclusion of 3D.Fit technology. Thanks to this digital relief technology, the graphics and the relief match perfectly and a finish as faithful as possible to the micro-cement is achieved.
  • The update of available colours: Ice, light, greige and cloud. Four colours designed to strike a balance between timelessness and modernity, with shades that flood spaces with light.
