Keik
Kéik – Valencia
KEIK is not a conventional pastry shop. It is a space devoted to a single product —the cheesecake— approached through conceptual and material purity. Designed by X Arquitectos, this project, located in the heart of Valencia, is conceived as a neutral, silent container where everything converges towards a single purpose: to highlight what truly matters.
The architecture is conceived as an exercise in restraint. Every decision seeks to eliminate the superfluous, allowing matter, proportion, and light to shape the experience. The space is organized with almost monastic precision, where emptiness gains value and atmosphere becomes part of the narrative.
The floor and counter —a custom-designed piece— are clad in Beren Light Grey porcelain by Livingceramics, chosen for its timeless stone hue and rich texture, capable of capturing light with serene warmth. Its Soft Textured finish, developed with our 3D·Fit technology, reproduces the texture of stone with a precision that invites touch.
Both elements are in harmony with the walls coated in natural lime stucco, creating an atmosphere of continuity and visual depth. The stone-like flooring reinforces the sense of stability and permanence, while the counter acts as a sculptural volume that structures and gives meaning to the space.
The counter, custom-built using large-format Beren Light Grey slabs measuring 177 × 71 cm and 110 cm high, retains the same texture and tone as the flooring, ensuring visual and material continuity. Its precise execution —refined lines, seamless joints, and a flawless surface— lends it a sculptural presence that structures the space and underscores the purity of the design.
