Casa Camiral

Located in Caldes de Malavella, in a privileged natural setting in Girona, Casa Camiral is conceived as a precise response to its surroundings. The elongated geometry of the plot gives rise to a longitudinal volume — an architecture that opens up to the landscape with a clear vocation for continuity.

Designed by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos, the project is structured around a sequence of spaces that extend outward, blurring the boundaries between interior and nature.

Large glazed surfaces and careful orientation allow light and views to be constantly integrated into the daily life of the home. The upper volume, slightly shifted, frames the horizon and casts a precise shadow over the ground floor, protecting it from excessive solar radiation. This architectural gesture, subtle yet decisive, enhances the direct relationship with the landscape and defines a composition where clarity and balance prevail over any artifice.

Inside, the sobriety of materials and the precision of details reinforce the idea of essential calm that defines the entire work. In this dialogue between proportion, clarity, and landscape, the flooring takes on an essential role. The Gubi porcelain tile in White tone and 120×120 cm format by Livingceramics covers both the interior of the home and the exterior areas, extending seamlessly between rooms and terraces. Its subtle texture and neutral tone enhance the sense of serenity and visual continuity, unifying the architecture under a single material. The use of the same material in both areas dissolves physical boundaries and generates a sense of fluidity that accompanies the spatial experience of the project.

The house is part of a development that seeks to integrate architecture and landscape from a contemporary and responsible perspective, where each construction decision responds to an idea of balance, well-being, and respect for the environment. In this context, the ceramic material becomes a common thread capable of articulating spaces, supporting daily life, and engaging in dialogue with nature through the honesty of its texture and the purity of its design.
